Two are owned by clients in Milwaukee, WI and two, owned by Matt and Nina Elliott, are operating in Sheboygan County. Matt Elliott is the Kennel Master for seven K-9 teams. The newest addition to the K-9 Unit is Buddie, owned by Sgt. Jesse Scheuren. Alpha and Omega are two red and black, pure-bred German Shepherds and were trained by Rudy Drexler's School for Dogs, Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana. Buddie is a black and tan, pure-bred German Shepherd that was donated to the agency in 2008 and trained by Rudy Drexler’s School for Dogs as well.Alpha and Omega were internationally certified on June 9, 2005. They are both trained to search for missing persons, do building searches and apprehend suspects. Alpha's specialty is narcotics detection. Omega's specialty is explosives detection. Buddie was certified on June 4, 2009. He is trained in obedience, handler protection, tracking, building searches, and his specialty, which is the detection of narcotics.The Special Op's K-9 unit is a division of "The Security Arts Corporation." Our K-9 unit is not regulated by the State of Wisconsin; as a result, our K-9 units can respond when called to any state or international request.Special Op's K-9 units are available for use by the general public, business, corporations as well as law enforcement agencies. Alpha, Omega, and Buddie are talented dogs whose availability adds to the quality of life in our service area.The Sheboygan based K-9 units are invoiced at an hourly rate which includes the handler and canine, as well as in-state transportation. Out-of-state or international request invoices are based on the assignment.No tax dollars or private donations were used to provide the K-9 units to area residents. They are another innovative approach used by The Security Arts Corporation in the fight against crime.Alpha and Buddie are available to showcase their talents and abilities to the public. K-9 Omega passed away from an inoperable brain tumor at the Animal Hospital in UW-Madison.
